location information:

The Quad-Cities consist of four cities (Rock Island, Moline, Davenport, and Bettendorf) located along the border of the states of Iowa and Illinois divided by the historic Mississippi River. It is a place that embodies the charm of a small town--a welcoming population, a steady pace of life, open spaces graced by the natural beauty of parks, lakes and rivers. Therefore, students can enjoy biking, hiking, camping, swimming, fishing, water and snow skiing, soccer, baseball, etc. However, within the four cities and surrounding areas, students will find the rich culture that is found in the larger city. Universities, colleges, and museums provide a variety of cultural events regularly throughout the year. The Mark of the Quad-Cities attracts major sports events and world class entertainers. Ethnic restaurants, cafes and clubs give students a chance to meet and to mix with the diverse population of the area. The Quad-Cities are within driving distance to other exciting places. Minneapolis/St. Paul, Chicago, Madison, Iowa City and St. Louios are within comfortable driving distances. Smaller towns like Geneseo and Galena give students the opportunity to come into contact with the rich history of the Mid-West. The Quad-Cities have all the amenities of a major urban area (good hospitals, airport, convenient shopping), yet provide students with a safe and peaceful living environment. The Quad-Cities and Black Hawk College are great places to study and to experience life in the United States.
