English on the Job Voice Recognition training software is: - Designed to assist with acquiring English literacy skills - Working with each individual student in a tutor-like style, at an individual pace the software employs several methods endorsed by experienced literacy trainers. These methods include: - Repetition - Consistent Language - Independent Practice - Modeling of Pronunciation - Self Evaluation - Identifying Pronunciation Errors Each training module (e-book) contains: - 10-30 words unique to the subject matter - Uses clear and simple language - Definitions and examples of technical vocabulary - Graphics to illustrate concepts Students have opportunity to: - Read sentences - Practice words - Answer questions related to the content Reports are available and include: - Time on task - Pronunciation reports that reflect each student's interaction with the software Instructors and administrators can also listen to: - Responses of students - Identify individual needs for improvement English on the Job Voice Recognition training software has been proven in multiple training programs in a variety of settings using the Cognitive Academic Language Learning Approach (CALLA) methodology. Along with promoting various teaching strategies, CALLA places strong emphasis on teaching content (vocabulary) important to the learner.
