Mt. Ellis Academy, gladly welcomes students from other countries to a unique experience of Christ-centered, character-driven education. The goal of our English as a Second Language (ESL) program is to prepare students for academic excellence in the college or university through a variety of classes and learning experiences that will improve a student’s English skills.
Students will live in a dormitory and eat vegetarian meals in the school cafeteria. ESL students participate in a mentoring program, which pairs international students with a native English-speaking student that attends Mt. Ellis Academy, as well as a local English-speaking host family. Students will enroll in a variety of ESL and regular classes that will help them acquire English as quickly as possible.
Mt. Ellis Academy is located in a rural setting in the state of Montana. During the fall and spring, ESL Program participants will have the opportunity to tour Yellowstone National Park, explore old mining towns, pan for gold like they did in the Old West, and discover the rich history of Montana. In the winter, participants can ski or snowboard (the school has its own ski hill). During the holidays (there is a short holiday each month) students will stay with their host family or participate in an extra tour for an additional cost.
Students live in a dormatory with English-speaking students as neighbors or roommates. Each international student has a local host family (arranged by the school) which will provide housing during holidays.
